LGBT is a phenomenon that has gained so much prominence in the recent past. However, its history dates back to same sex love and sexuality that was practiced in ancient civilizations. This involved the history of lesbian, gay, bisexual as well as transgender cultures and peoples all over the world. After centuries of persecution, the remnant history of this phenomenon has been pursued and intertwined into more mainstream narratives. As a result of the recent developments, LGBT history month began to be observed in the US in 1994. This has seen many other countries pick up the trend. During this month, LGBT rights and other related rights are highlighted. While this month is observed during October in the United States, the same is observed in February in the UK. This coincides with the 2005 abolition of section 28 that had banned schools from discussing LGBT issues. Since then, LGBT has been in the limelight more than ever before.
